Actress Carole Cook from Sixteen Candles has passed away at 98 years old.

She passed away in Beverly Hills from heart failure, according to her husband Tom Troupe, 94, who verified her demise.

In addition to collaborating with Lucille Ball on the American sitcoms The Lucy Show (1963–68) and Here’s Lucy (1969– 1974), Cook was best friends with the legendary actress.

In John Hughes’ 1984 romantic comedy Sixteen Candles, the late actress—who would have turned 99 on January 14—also acted as Sam Baker’s grandmother.

In addition to a brief appearance on the US serial opera Dynasty, her acting credits on television include That Girl, Maude, and Kojak.

In 2002, the actress won the Theatre Ovation Award for Lifetime Career Achievement, one of several honors she received over her illustrious career.
