Jorge Ballesteros, the reigning shooting world champion, was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound but later died.

The legendary Spanish shooter was discovered on Monday with a gunshot wound to the head in his automobile.

He was promptly taken to La Paz hospital in Madrid, where he, unfortunately, died the next day.

The 39-year-old was regarded as Spain’s best shooter of all time, despite the fact that his sport never became an Olympic event during his lifetime and he was never able to compete there.

Ballesteros finished third in the junior competition in 2002 and again in the senior tournament in 2005 before winning the IPSC Handgun World Shoot in the Open division in 2017 and becoming his nation’s first champion.

The 39-year-old won the 2013 and 2016 European Handgun Championships in addition to his global championship.

He also took home 12 victories in the Spanish Handgun Championships, second only to Eduardo de Cobos’ 15 victories.

At the age of 18, Ballesteros became the youngest person to ever win the Open Absolute Champion of Spain. His wife and two children still honor him.

At the moment, the burial site of Jorge Ballesteros hasn’t been disclosed. You’ll be informed when the family makes an announcement.
