Jared Scott Carter Jeffries is a former professional basketball player from the United States. The Washington Wizards selected Jeffries with the 11th overall pick in the 2002 NBA draft.

Before retiring in 2013, he also played for the New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, and Portland Trail Blazers.

With the eleventh overall choice in the NBA draft of 2002, Jeffries was chosen by the Washington Wizards. As a lottery-level selection, Jeffries signed a three-year contract with the Wizards that was guaranteed.

During his first season, which was cut short by an ACL injury sustained in practice, Jeffries played with Michael Jordan in 20 games. While a regular starter in the 2004–05 season, he played in all 82 games during his sophomore campaign. The Wizards exercised a contract option to retain Jeffries with the team through the 2005–06 campaign on October 31, 2004.

Jeffries was signed by the New York Knicks on August 8, 2006, after the Washington Wizards declined to match the Knicks’ offer. Jeffries suffered a wrist injury shortly before the 2006 season and missed the first 23 games.

Jeffries was involved in the Knicks-Nuggets brawl on December 16, 2006. He received a four-game suspension.
