Who became CEO after Walt Disney died?
Following Walt’s death, Roy O. Disney took over as chairman, CEO, and president of the company. One of his first acts was to rename Disney World “Walt Disney World” in honor of his brother and his vision.
Roy O. Disney, who after Walt’s death oversaw the building and financing of Walt Disney World, died in late 1971. For the next decade, the Company was led by a team including Card Walker, Donn Tatum, and Ron Milleru2014all initially trained by the Disney brothers.
