Owen Roizman, who lived from September 22, 1936, to January 6, 2023, was a cinematographer from the United States.

He was nominated for five Academy Awards for Best Cinematography for his work on the films The French Connection, The Exorcist Network, Tootsie, and Wyatt Earp.

He was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors.

The legendary cinematographer’s son Eric currently works in Hollywood as a cameraman. Roizman was an Academy Award-nominated cinematographer for The French Connection, for which he received a nod for Best Cinematography.

Roizman made his feature film debut with Stop in 1970, after making several television ads. With his unique gritty New York street photography, his film Stop established the aesthetic for many of his subsequent films.

He received Academy Award nods for Best Cinematography for his work on films such as The Heartbreak Kid, The Exorcist, Three Days of the Condor, and Network.
