Details about his late parents are not available in the public domain at the moment. That may be because they went their separate ways when the veteran actor was just 4 years old.

He worked as a waiter, porter, secretary, and sales assistant as a young man before meeting Brigitte Auber on a trip to the Cannes Film Festival.

In Luchino Visconti’s Rocco and His Brothers, Delon played the title character. The film was a critical and commercial success in France, as well as on the art house circuit in English-speaking nations.

He made his film debut in René Clément’s Plein Soleil, which was distributed in the United States as Purple Noon. It was based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Talented Mr. Ripley, and he received great acclaim for his performance as Tom Ripley.
