Undoubtedly one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time, Van Morrison is a true symbol of Northern Ireland.
His career has lasted seven decades and he has won two Grammy Awards as a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer.

With the debut of his iconic song “Brown Eyed Girl” in 1967, he launched his solo career. He began work on his landmark album Astral Weeks a year later, and in 1970 he finished recording Moondance.

For his contributions to Northern Ireland’s tourism and the music business, he received a knighthood in 2016.

He has been honored with two Grammy Awards, the 1994 Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, the 2017 Americana Music Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting, and induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For his contributions to Northern Ireland’s music industry and tourism, he received a knighthood in 2016.
