DJ Paul siblings: Lord Infamous, Craig Petties
Hundreds of kilograms of cocaine and marijuana were distributed throughout Memphis and the South, according to an indictment against the half-brother of Memphis producer/rapper DJ Paul Beauregard.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that in addition to the charges related to drug distribution, Craig Petties has also been charged with at least six murders connected to the drug trade. Federal agents assert that Petties joined forces with a Sinaloa cartel branch and brought cocaine and marijuana into Memphis through a vast network of associates.
Numerous fictitious businesses were used to sell the cocaine and marijuana, helping Petties’ illegal earnings to be hidden. Due to allusions to drug trafficking on the record, Petties is charged with the murder of a Grenade Posse member. Because they were thought to be informants or dangerous rivals to Petties drug empire, several more individuals were slain.
Petties, a reputed Gangster Disciples commander, was initially charged in 2002 but fled, making him one of the Top 15 Most Wanted American Fugitive list. Over 40 vehicles, over $3 million in assets, and over $600,000 in cash were seized by federal prosecutors. Petties has entered a not guilty plea to the allegations and could be sentenced to death if found guilty.
