Professional rugby league coach Daniel Stewart Anderson  (born May 3, 1967) is from Australia.

Prior to being hired as the Warriors head coach in 2001, the former Parramatta junior previously worked under Brian Smith in the 1990s.

His leadership led the team to its first finals series that year and its first grand final the following year, where they were defeated by the Roosters.

Anderson left New Zealand and moved to St Helens. He led the Saints for more than 70 games before going back to Australia.

After that, he served in an off-field position for the club’s salary cap scandal while he led Parramatta for three seasons, including a trip to the 2009 grand final, where they lost to the Melbourne Storm.

Surprisingly, the Storm’s 2009 championship was taken away from them due to their club’s deliberate wage cap fraud.

After two years away from the sport, Anderson was later given the go-ahead by the NRL to make a conditional return in 2019 with the Sydney Roosters.

As a result of a strange surfing mishap on the NSW Central Coast, the former NRL coach has been taken to the hospital.

The ex-Parramatta and New Zealand Warriors coach, who was on vacation with his family, was bodysurfing at Soldiers Beach near Norah Head when the accident occurred, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Family members raced to the rescue of the 55-year-old, who is thought to have been dropped on his neck by a large wave.

The severe accident is also said to have caused the current Sydney Roosters recruitment manager to experience a heart attack.

As of right now, Anderson’s status at Royal North Shore Hospital is stable after being taken there urgently.

Anderson is reportedly on a ventilator and under under observation, according to the SMH.
