Irish-British-American actress and singer Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury was born on October 16, 1925.

Her mother, the Irish performer Moyna Macgill, was born in Belfast and went by the stage name Charlotte Lillian McIldowie. In addition to her regular performances in London’s West End, she made numerous appearances in films. Her father, rich English politician and businessman Edgar Lansbury was a former mayor of the Metropolitan Borough of Poplar and a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain.

She played a variety of parts in theatre, movies, and television over the course of her eight-decade career. Despite spending much of her time in the United States, she received numerous awards and acclaim for her work on a global scale.

Actress Moyna Macgill, a native of Belfast and native of Ireland, gave birth to actors Angela Lansbury, Edgar Lansbury, and Bruce Lansbury on December 10, 1895. Charlotte Lillian McIldowie was born at 42 Eglantine Avenue in south Belfast, the daughter of William McIldowie and Elizabeth Jane. On The Irish Times’ list of the top film stars in the nation in 2020, she came in at number 35.

Angela Lansbury’s father is a British politician Edgar Isaac Lansbury, born on April 3, 1887. His daughter was the American-British-Irish actress Angela Lansbury. George Lansbury, a politician who led the Labour Party in the 1930s, and Elizabeth were Lansbury’s parents.

He was raised in Poplar, in the East End of London, and shortly joined the Civil Service. 
In 1910, he left to launch wood company with his brother.
