Julian visited Israel when he was just 13 years old and gave performances there.
His band Uprising received an invitation from the Jamaican government in 2008 to represent Jamaica in the Olympics in Beijing and play there.
He and his younger half-brother Ky-Mani Marley organized the Miami for Haiti benefit concert in February 2010 to raise money for relief operations in the Caribbean nation that had been devastated by an earthquake.
He and the majority of his musical half-brothers participated in various “Africa Unite” performances in the middle and late 2010s.
Both of his third and fourth albums, Awake and As I Am, which were released ten years apart, were nominated for Grammy Awards in the category of “Best Reggae Album.”
