British dramatist and television producer Jeff Pope was born in 1959. (Age 64).

He has received the highest praise for his work on the movies Pierrepoint: The Last Hangman, Dirty Filthy Love, and The Fattest Man in Britain. He is currently the Head of ITV Productions Factual Drama and received a BAFTA in 2006 for his work on the drama See No Evil: The Moors Murders. Pope began his career as an Ealing Gazette reporter. He started working for London Weekend Television as a researcher for current affairs in 1973. Pope began his career with LWT as Head of Factual Drama in 1996 before transferring to Granada Television in the same position.

Pope worked as a reporter for the Ealing Gazette for his first media position. In 1983, he started working for London Weekend Television as a researcher for The Six O’Clock Show. Pope was hired as Head of Factual Drama at LWT in 1996 before transferring to Granada Television in the same capacity. The Head of Factual Drama finally relocated to ITV. The Place of the Dead (1997), Essex Boys (2000), Bob Martin (2000), Dirty Filthy Love (2004), Christmas Lights (2004), Pierrepoint (2005), Northern Lights (2006), City Lights (2007), The Fattest Man in Britain (2009), and The Widower are among Pope’s television writing credits.
