Originally from England, Rollo is a music producer who was given the name Rowland Constantine O’Malley Armstrong on May 8, 1966. Rollo was born from the union of a French-English poet and an Irish publisher. His younger sister, singer Dido, is a multi-million-selling musician whose albums he co-wrote and produced, including No Angel, Life for Rent, Safe Trip Home, and Still on My Mind. While attending the University of York, he was an active member of the student radio station URY.
He is one half of the remix and production duo Rollo & Sister Bliss and a founding member of the electronic music group Faithless. A few of the musicians whose music he has remixed include Pet Shop Boys, Simply Red, R. Kelly, U2, Moby, Grace, Tricky, and Suede.
For producing Dido’s albums and Kristine W’s self-titled debut album as a singer-songwriter, Rollo is well-known in the US.
Rollo composed the UEFA Euro 2008 and UEFA Euro 2012 official hymn. In 2010, Danny Boyle received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song for his work on the movie 127 Hours, which included his collaboration with Dido and A.R. Rahman on “If I Rise.”
