Arnold was born in Paris, France, and reared there. Six years after moving to London, he returned to Paris to photograph Emily there.
Since he was a small child, he has been incredibly passionate about performing. He performed in a number of theatre productions prior to starting his cinematic career. Before switching to acting, he was a professional dancer first. He co-starred with Ralph Fiennes in Anthony and Cleopatra at the National Theatre in London before appearing in the French television movie Tuer un Homme.
