On Monday, Cue Card was scheduled to lead the King George parade at Kempton, but Tizzard’s son Joe, who currently owns the training license, announced the death of the adored 16-year-old horse (gelding).
Cue Card, trained by Colin Tizzard and owned by Jean Bishop, won both the Ryanair Chase and the Champion Bumper at the 2013 Cheltenham Festival. Cue Card retired in 2017 with a total of 16 victories from 41 attempts.
The Tizzard yard has been able to change from a dairy farm with racehorses to one of the nation’s most potent jumps stables because to Cue Card’s eight years of success at the top level of racing. Cue Card made his debut in 2010 as a 40-1 winner of the Champion Bumper for a then-unknown trainer.
