Additionally, it is revealed that Jessica now has a daughter named Journey who shares Jeronicus’ passion for innovations. After receiving a letter from Jeronicus, Jessica invites Journey to spend Christmas with him.
Despite allowing her to stay, Jeronicus welcomes her but at first seems uninterested in her. Gustafson, a well-known toy tycoon, has used every innovation from Jeronicus’ book. Gustafson designed and has been working to perfect the Twirly Whirly, a toy that is introduced during a party but malfunctions and assaults one of the guests. Diego convinces Gustafson to take another one of Jeronicus’ creations.
When Journey finds out that Jessica was responsible for designing and creating Jeronicus’s newest toy, The Buddy 3000, she vows to see it through to completion. That evening, Jeronicus’ helper Edison learns she was at his workshop. Together, they find Buddy’s body in Jeronicus’ workshop. Buddy comes to life when they use the technology that Jeronicus was creating.
