Didier Claude Deschamps, a former player, and professional football manager from France, was born on October 15, 1968. He has been in charge of the France national team since 2012.

The former France international also played for Marseille, Juventus, Chelsea, and Valencia in Europe.

He was part of the Marseille squad that won the UEFA Champions League in 1993. With Juventus he played three Champions League finals in a row, winning the title in 1996. Deschamps was only the second captain to win the Champions League, World Cup, and European Championship.

France manager and former player Didier Deschamps won the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He is the third man to win the World Cup as both a player and a manager. Alongside Mário Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer, he is only the second man to captain the French national team.
