Australian actor, dramatist, and director Brendan Cowell. He received praise for his performance as Hamlet in Bell Shakespeare’s 2008 production of the play.
In 2010, he appeared in the Sydney Theatre Company production of True West, which was directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Cowell portrayed the mysterious Tom in Love My Way on Australian cable TV, for which he also wrote numerous episodes, and he portrayed Todd in Life Support on SBS TV’s first two seasons, for which he also wrote sketches.
In Season 7 of the HBO television series Game of Thrones, Cowell debuted as Harrag, an Ironborn sea captain who is a supporter of Theon Greyjoy.

Brendan was encouraged to make his own shows to perform after dinner in front of the family by his elder sisters, who were both singers and dancers.
While waiting for one of his sisters to finish a dancing rehearsal at age 8, he was hired to appear in a TV ad. Prior to receiving his BA in Communication, Theatre, and Media from Charles Sturt University, Bathurst in 1998, he worked in television drama during his adolescence.
