Known for his leading roles in the TV series Sneaky Pete and the motion pictures Avatar (2009), Lost in Translation (2003), Ted (2012) and its sequel Ted 2 (2015), Contraband (2012), Gardener of Eden (2007), Selma (2014), and A Million Ways to Die in the West.
