Danny Masterson verdict: What was Danny Masterson accused of? Is Danny Masterson innocent?

Masterson was accused of raping three women between 2001 and 2003 on June 17, 2020.

All three women were Scientology church members at the time of the alleged attacks, but the judge made it clear that the faith would not be the subject of the trial. According to Variety, Judge Charlaine Olmedo declared during a pre-trial hearing that “this is not going to become a trial on Scientology.”

Masterson has always refuted all of the charges, and he appeared in court to defend himself in October 2022. However, after a protracted trial lasting several weeks, the jury was “hopelessly deadlocked,” leading to a mistrial.

“While we are disappointed with the outcome in this trial, we thank the jurors for their service,” the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said in a statement, via News.

“We also want to give our heartfelt appreciation to the victims for bravely stepping forward and recounting their harrowing experiences.”

No, he is not innocent for now because, according to News, a new trial is slated to take place on March 27, 2023.

Masterson could receive a sentence of 45 years to life if found guilty.
