Irish actor and producer Pierce Brendan Brosnan OBE was born on May 16, 1953. He appeared in four films (GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day) from 1995 to 2002 and in numerous video games, making him best known as the fifth actor to portray secret agent James Bond in the Bond film series.

Brosnan began training in commercial illustration after leaving school at the age of 16 and went on to attend the Drama Centre in London for three years. He rose to prominence in the television series Remington Steele after a theater-playing career (1982–1987). Following the series finale, Brosnan acted in films such as the Cold War spy drama The Fourth Protocol (1987) and the comedy Mrs. Doubtfire (1993). Following his success as James Bond, Brosnan went on to star in a number of significant films, including the epic catastrophe adventure picture Dante’s Peak (1997) and the adaptation of the heist thriller The Thomas Crown Affair (1999).
