American professional soccer player Christian Mate Pulisic (born September 18, 1998) plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Premier League club Chelsea and the United States team. He has been dubbed “Captain America” by largely American fans and other players due to his excellent play and nationality.
In only 15 junior games, Pulisic made his professional debut for German club Borussia Dortmund, where he quickly rose through the team’s youth academy. At the age of 17, he was then elevated to the senior team in 2016.
He made a few appearances during his first year with the team, but his influence expanded significantly the following year. He was a key member of the Dortmund squad that won the DFB-Pokal in 2016–17. He placed second in the first Kopa Trophy competition in 2018, which was for the best player under the age of 21.
