Tony Lip, a well-known American actor, was born on July 30, 1930, as Frank Anthony Vallelonga Sr. Nazarena and Nicholas Vallelonga, two Italian immigrants, gave birth to Frank Anthony Vallelonga in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He was raised on 215th Street in the Bronx after his family relocated there when he was a little child.

He was given the name “Lip” as a child due to his reputation for being able to persuade people to do what he wanted them to.

He is most recognized for playing Carmine Lupertazzi, a mafia boss, in the HBO series The Sopranos. Lip played real-life mobster Philip Giaccone of the Bonanno crime family in Donnie Brasco and real-life mobster Francesco Manzo of the Lucchese crime family in Goodfellas.

In The Godfather, he won his first acting role, a little part, after meeting Francis Ford Coppola and Louis DiGiamo at the Copacabana nightclub. Another book he co-wrote was titled Shut Up and Eat! (2005).
