Sam Corlett, who was born and reared in Central Coast, NSW, Australia, the son of a counselor and a tradesman, had no particular interest in pursuing an acting career.
The high level of sport experience he had, along with his interest in art, psychology, human behavior, philosophy, and literature, led him to discover that all of his passions were expressed on stage and screen.
Sam has trained with some of the most well-known trainers, like Elizabeth Kemp, Les Chantery, Glenda Linscott, and Andrew Lewis, since he is curious to tell stories in these formats.
At the end of 2018, Sam received his Bachelor of Performing Arts in acting from the esteemed WAAPA (Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts), which gave him many chances to grow both throughout his training and in many shows. Sam participated in Chris Isaac’s The Emancipation of Alice Paws in his second year of college.
The play was written in partnership with Playwrights Australia, and the five-person cast was flown to China to perform at the Asia Pacific Bureau Theatre Schools Festival & Directors Conference. Sam’s ten stage performances include Stanley Kowalski in Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, Thomas Putnam in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, and Demetrius in William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. These are just a few of the highlights Sam has performed in.
