Lucius Cary, the 15th Viscount of Falkland, and Caroline Butler welcomed Cary into the world at Hammersmith, London. Cary is the next in line to succeed his father as Viscount of Falkland, the highest-ranking elected hereditary peerage in Scotland (created in 1620 by Scottish King James VI).
When Cary was a child, he lived next door to actors André Morell and Joan Greenwood in Chelsea, London. He has known that he wants to work in the film industry since he was twelve years old. He was dismissed from Westminster School and relocated to Loretto in Scotland before his A-levels.

Lucius Edward William Plantagenet Cary, 15th Viscount of Falkland (born 8 May 1935), was a British nobleman and politician who served as Master of Falkland from 1961 to 1984.
Background and education
Constance Mary Berry, the daughter of Captain Edward Berry, and Lucius Cary, 14th Viscount of Falkland, were the parents of four children, Cary being the eldest and only child. The senior viscountcy in the Scottish peerage, founded by King James VI in 1620, is the Viscount of Falkland.
Cary, a former officer in the Hussars, attended Wellington College in Berkshire for his education.
Political career
Cary succeeded his father as viscount in 1984. Prior to joining the Liberal Democrats, he served as the Social Democratic Party’s representative in the House of Lords. He was one of the 92 hereditary peers who were chosen to stay in office following the House of Lords Act of 1999, which removed the bulk of them.
Falkland, a current Crossbencher, left the Liberal Democrats in 2011. He backs Humanists UK and has been the vice president of the Royal Stuart Society since 2015 (his ancestors were ardent Jacobites, and he holds the title of 10th Earl of Falkland in the Jacobite Peerage).
