Alex Andersen is a Danish actor and photographer who was born on May 20, 1994. He is well recognized for his portrayal of Ivar in the History drama series Vikings.

Andersen developed his passion for performing while studying theater at school in the town of Slagelse in the western section of Zealand, Denmark. He was lucky to obtain a lot of experience with several large parts by participating in various musical-focused shows. He began auditioning for film parts, much like his colleagues.

Andersen discovered the distinction between live performances and performing in front of a camera when he was seventeen years old. This inspired him to study Film and Media at the University of Copenhagen. In Denmark, he has appeared in a number of television and cinema productions. Vikings are his first film in Hollywood.

When he is not performing, Andersen spends a lot of time focused on photography. As a visual person, he continues to learn more about cameras as a result of his experience shooting and directing short films. He has also learned to dance, sing, play sports, fence, and do stunts. He donates to organizations such as UNICEF, Care Denmark, and Kraeftensbekmpelse (Fighting Cancer).
