Sope Aluko (Shaw-peh Ahlookoh) is a Nigerian-born actress raised primarily in the United Kingdom. She spent her childhood in France, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, and Indonesia, among other places.
She is a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom, fluent in four languages, including her native Yoruba/Nigerian.
Sope studied drama at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and dance while in the UK. She had the honor of performing the world-famous South African dance “Ipi Tombi” at Nigeria’s National Arts Theater.

She has been married to Ola Olusegun Aluko for about 20 years. The loving couple has two boys, one of who is 16 years old and the other of whom is 14 years old. They were the parents of two sons. The youngest son, Tolueani Aluko, was born on March 19, 1998, while the identity of the second son is still unknown.
