Kamarudeen Usman is a Nigerian-American professional mixed martial artist, former freestyle wrestler, and graduated folkstyle wrestler.
He is the former UFC Welterweight Champion and was also The Ultimate Fighter 21 tournament winner. Currently, he competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Kamaru Usman was born on May 11, 1987, in Auchi, Nigeria to Muhammed Nasiru Usman, who was a major in the Nigerian army, and a mother who was a teacher.
He is one of three children born to his parents are has two brothers named Kashetu and Mohammed. Mohammed, like him, is also a mixed martial artist and fellow The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) winner.
He moved to the United States at eight years old when his family decided to emigrate to the United States. His wrestling career began at Bowie High School. He later went on to compete at a collegiate level for both William Penn University and the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK).
Not only is Kamaru Usman established an accomplished career, but he can also boast of being a proud father. He has a daughter who turned seven years old in 2022.
