Florence Kasumba, a German actress of Ugandan descent, is well-known to American viewers for her moving performances in a number of Hollywood superhero movies, including “Wonder Woman” (2016) and “Captain America: Civil War” (2016). (2017).
The 46-year-old claimed German citizenship despite being born in the African country of Uganda. She began acting rather late, landing her first part in the Dutch film “Ik ook van jou” in 2001, when she was well into her 20s. The offers began to come in after her great performance in “Captain America: Civil War.” Just in 2017, Kasumba played Senator Acantha in the female-centric superhero movie “Wonder Woman” and made an appearance as a cast member on the NBC fantasy series “The Emerald City,” which was a remake of the classic movie “The Wizard of Oz.”
