Thuy Trang was born on December 14, 1973, in Saigon, South Vietnam, now Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to father Ky Trang and mother Be Trang.

She was the youngest of three siblings. Her father, an officer in the South Vietnamese army (ARVN), was tasked with protecting Saigon from the communist North Vietnamese army.

After the fall of Saigon in 1975, he was forced to abandon his family and flee the country, eventually settling in the United States. Trang and her family were detained while her father petitioned the United States government for political asylum for his family. Trang was two years old when they fled Saigon.

Where did Thuy Trang go to high school?

Thuy Trang’s high school is unknown to the general public.

Trang and her family boarded a cargo ship bound for Hong Kong in 1979, when she was five years old.

It was a difficult journey, with people packed in close quarters due to limited space and a lack of food and water.

The journey lasted approximately eight to nine months, and at least four people died. Trang went for long periods without eating and became ill, requiring her mother to force food down her throat while she was unconscious to keep her alive.
