Tyrann Devine Mathieu, a safety with the National Football League’s New Orleans Saints, was born on May 13, 1992. (NFL). He represented Louisiana State University in college football (LSU). He gained a reputation in college for forcing turnovers, breaking the Southeastern Conference (SEC) record with 11 forced fumbles in a career, and earned the moniker “the Honey Badger” after the aforementioned mammal. He was named a unanimous All-American during his sophomore year, earned the Chuck Bednarik Award for finest defensive player in college football, and advanced to the Heisman Trophy finals.
