Desmond Ridder is an American football quarterback who currently plays for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. Ridder was born on August 31, 1999. Before being picked by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, he played college football at Cincinnati, where he was recognized as the Offensive Player of the Year for the American Athletic Conference on two separate occasions.

Ridder was raised by his mother and his grandmother after being born to a woman who was just 15 years old when she gave birth to him in Louisville, Kentucky. Before he went to St. Xavier High School, he received his education at Holy Family Parochial.
Ridder was awarded All-Metro as a senior at St. Xavier, where he led the Tigers in running with 668 yards and 12 touchdowns while also leading the team in passing with 1,319 yards and nine touchdown passes. He also led the team in passing with nine touchdown passes.
