
Akiem Jamar Hicks, an American football defensive end with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League, was born on November 16, 1989, in Elk Grove, California, and is 32 years old. He played for the New England Patriots and Chicago Bears before being selected by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. At Sacramento City College and the University of Regina, he participated in collegiate football.
He became the second-highest NFL draft pick in CIS history and the ninth player from Canadian Interuniversity Sport to be chosen in the NFL draft (behind only Mike Schad, a first-round pick in 1986).
