On May 18, 1996, Mike Edwards, a safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League, was born. (NFL). In the 2019 NFL Draft, the Buccaneers selected him in the third round after he played college football for Kentucky.

For his play in Week 2, Edwards was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week. On December 2, 2021, Edwards received a fine from the NFL for three games’ worth of COVID-19 infractions, specifically lying about his immunization status.
