
On March 6, 1995, Charles Harris, a defensive end for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League, was born. The Miami Dolphins selected him out of Missouri’s NCAA football program in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Harris, who received an invitation to the NFL Combine, completed all of the exercises with the exception of the brief shuttle and the three-cone drill.
He participated in the Missouri Pro Day and was chosen to compete in the three-cone drill, the short shuttle, the vertical leap, and the broad jump in addition to positional drills.
Before the draft, experts and analysts in the NFL draft predicted that he would be selected in the first or second round. He was ranked as the seventh-best edge rusher by Sports Illustrated.
According to ESPN, he was the third-best linebacker, and according to NFL analysts Bucky Brooks, Mike Mayock, and NFLDraftScout.com, he was the fifth-best defensive end.
