After De’Vondre Campbell, Quay Walker, and Krys Barnes were on the depth chart to begin the 2022 season, McDuffie was listed as the fourth linebacker. He saw the first significant action of his career in Week 8, with Barnes on injured reserve and Walker and Campbell departing a loss to the Buffalo Bills of 27-17 with an ejection and a knee injury, respectively.
He became the defensive team’s main playmaker alongside free-agent signing Eric Wilson. The Packers’ Week 9 game in Detroit was started by McDuffie and Walker even though Barnes was fit and Campbell was still sidelined. After making 5 tackles, he received a final grade of 91.1 on Pro Football Focus.
