Trey McBride, a tight end for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals, was born on November 22, 1999. (NFL).

He played college football for Colorado State, where he won the John Mackey Award in 2021 and was named an undisputed All-American. The Cardinals selected McBride in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

McBride was born and raised in Fort Morgan, Colorado, where he also attended Fort Morgan High School and participated in football, basketball, and baseball. He was named Class 3A All-Colorado for his junior season, which included 32 catches for 751 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a senior, he was once again named to the All-Colorado team after rushing for 226 yards, catching 30 passes for 450 yards, and scoring four touchdowns in all. He also made 40 defensive tackles and one sack. In addition to holding the school records for career home runs and RBIs in baseball, McBride also holds the marks for career points scored in basketball.

After graduating from high school, McBride received scholarship offers from Colorado State over those from Colorado, Cal, Kansas State, Navy, Northern Colorado, and Wyoming. He was rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports at the time.

McBride participated in all 12 of Colorado State’s games as a freshman, starting five of them. Seven passes were caught by him for 89 yards and one touchdown.  The Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation named McBride first-team Academic All-Colorado and Academic All-Mountain West.
