Darius Slayton, a wide receiver with the National Football League’s New York Giants, was born on January 12, 1997. In the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Giants selected him from Auburn, where he played college football.
Greater Atlanta Christian School was Slayton’s high school, where he also participated in football.
Slayton attended Auburn University and played collegiate football there. He redshirted in 2015 and played from 2016 to 2018.
Daniel Jones, a fellow 2019 NFL draft pick, provided Slayton with three receptions for 82 yards in his debut NFL game, a 32-31 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3. He scored a 35-yard touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in his third game, a 28-10 loss.
Slayton caught two catches for a total of 50 yards and two touchdowns in Week 8’s 31-26 loss to the Detroit Lions. Slayton had 10 receptions for 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Week 10’s game against the New York Jets, which the Giants lost 27-34.
