He had 81 receptions for 1,040 yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior year. Due to his hard work, he became Etiwanda’s all-time leading receiver and was a Super Prep magazine All-American.
After high school, he attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2008 to 2011. He caught 62 passes for 846 yards and three touchdowns during his senior season. Due to this, he was named Honorable Mention All-Pac-12
After his collegiate career, he became eligible for the NFL. He was drafted in the fifth round, 166th overall, by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2012 NFL Draft.
