Percy Butler III (born May 29, 2000) is a free safety for the National Football League’s Washington Commanders (NFL). He attended Louisiana and was drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Commanders.

Butler was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana, on May 29, 2000, and attended Plaquemine High School. He committed to Louisiana as a 2-star recruit over offers from Colorado State, Northwestern State, Southern Miss, and Texas State.

As a freshman, he appeared in six games before suffering an injury. In his sophomore season, he started all 14 games for Louisiana and had 54 tackles, two passes broken up, and three forced fumbles.

Butler had 44 tackles as a junior, with two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, six passes were broken up, and two interceptions. As a senior, he was named second-team All-Sun Belt after recording 61 tackles, three fumble recoveries, and an interception. He also took part in the NFL Combine in 2022.

The Washington Commanders selected Butler in the fourth round (113th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. On June 21, 2022, he signed a four-year rookie contract.
