American actor David Joel Barrera was born on December 28, 1968. His most notable performance was in Generation Kill as Gunnery Sgt. Ray “Casey Kasem” Griego.
In his hometown of San Juan, Texas, Barrera attended Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School and participated in the theater club.
After he graduated from Southern Methodist University, David Barrera enrolled in the University of California, San Diego’s graduate acting program. He is currently an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University, where he teaches acting.
In addition to Grimm, Heroes, CSI: Miami, Boston Legal, Medium, Nip/Tuck, NYPD Blue, Murder One, Without a Trace, The West Wing, The Big Bang Theory, and 24, for which he was nominated for an ALMA Award, he has also appeared in several other television shows.
