Miller made his first career start at UCLA in 2015 after redshirting in 2014 after Conor McDermott was injured against California. Miller took over as UCLA’s starting tackle after that game. Later, he started the first five games of the 2016 season before being injured against Arizona and missing the rest of the season. Miller announced his intention to enter the 2018 NFL Draft following the 2017 season.
Miller was selected 15th overall by the Oakland Raiders in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Miller signed a four-year rookie contract on May 18, 2018. To begin the 2018 season, he was named the Raiders’ starting left tackle, defeating veteran Donald Penn, who was moved to right tackle.
Miller allowed three sacks on quarterback Derek Carr in a 26-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. Miller surrendered three more sacks to Carr in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks. Miller and the offensive line rebounded in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts, not allowing a single sack.
