Houston-native Travis Scott has said he is ‘devastated’ after eight people lost their lives at the 2021 Astroworld Festival. Over 300 concert-goers sustained injuries at the concert held at the NRG Park in Houston, Texas, on Friday, November 6.
Travis reacted to the tragic event the following day, saying he was ‘absolutely devastated.’ He prayed for the victims’ families and promised to support them.
“I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival,” a statement he shared on his social media pages said.

“Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need.”
He added: “Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department, and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love You All.”

Travis’s girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Stormi Webster, said they were “unaware of any fatalities” until after the event ended.
In a statement on Sunday, the KUWTK star disclosed that they were “devastated” that at least eight people lost their lives in the stampede.

Drake added: “My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering. I will continue to pray for all of them and will be of service in any way I can. May God be with you all.”

What is Travis Scott doing about Astroworld?
Travis is doing two things to heal the victims and their families.
Firstly, he will refund Astroworld attendees and won’t perform at this weekend’s Day N Vegas Festival, which he had been booked to headline.
Secondly, Scott stated on Monday, saying he will to cover the costs of funeral rites for the victims. He said he had partnered with BetterHelp to supply free one-on-one online therapy for those affected by the tragedy.
“These are the first of many steps Travis plans on taking as a part of his personal vow to assist those affected throughout their grieving and recovery process,” the statement said.
