Brian Stanford Hewson, a famous middle-distance runner who represented Great Britain at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics is no more. He was born to his parents on April 4, 1933, in Croydon, United Kingdom, but sadly passed away on September 13, 2022, at the age of 89. He is said to be one of the best middle-distance runners. He was one of the first men to run a four-minute mile, clocking 3:59.8 at the White City Stadium in London on 28 May 1955. He won the gold medal in the 1500 meters at the 1958 European Championships.

Hewson is the father of three children – two sons and a daughter who have been identified as James, Caroline, and Charles. James and Charles are his two sons whiles Caroline on the other hand is the only daughter of the renowned middle-distance runner.
He welcomed his three children with his second wife, Alison Blaiklock, a secretary. He was married to the secretary for 17 years since they tied the knot in 1963 and parted ways in divorce in 1980.
