Amber Augusta Rudd, born 1st August 1963 is a British former politician who served as Home Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions from 2018 to 2019.
She was a Conservative Party Member of Parliament (MP) for Hastings and Rye, first elected in 2010, and resigned in 2019.
She describes herself as a one-nation conservative[2] and has been connected with both socially liberal and fiscally liberal ideals.
