Amber Augusta Rudd was born on 1st August 1963. She is a former British politician who was Home Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions from 2018 to 2019.
She was the Conservative Party’s Member of Parliament (MP) for Hastings and Rye, having been elected in 2010. She resigned from parliament in 2019. She considers herself a one-nation conservative and has supported both socially and economically liberal ideas.

Amber Rudd tied the knot with A. A. Gill, a writer and critic, in 1990. They had two children, including journalist Flora Gill.
After Gill began a long-term relationship with writer Nicola Formby, the pair divorced in 1995.
Gill and Rudd eventually divorced. Rudd was formerly involved with fellow Conservative MP Kwasi Kwarteng.
