Reece James signs new six-year Chelsea contract
Reece James’ new six-year deal with Chelsea has been officially announced as the defender pledges his future to the team of his youth.
The England international has received a generous new contract as a result of his excellent play, as was revealed by Standard Sport last week. The Boehly-Clearlake administration made him a priority.
The 22-year-old has drawn interest from both Real Madrid and Manchester City, but James has recommitted to the team until 2028. Edouard Mendy and Mason Mount are anticipated to follow suit soon.
“I am over the moon with my new deal and I’m appreciative for the fans, the new ownership, and everyone associated with the club,” James said on the team’s official website. I am excited to see what the future contains and know that there will be plenty of opportunities for us to win trophies.
Todd Boehly, the club’s chairman, continued, “We are delighted to offer Reece a new long-term deal at Chelsea. He is a fantastic athlete and a great Chelsea supporter, and we are all eager to see him succeed at Stamford Bridge.
