On a heated night, Foo Fighters leader Dave Grohl performed hits such as Times Like These, Best Of You, and Everlong alongside Paul McCartney, Liam Gallagher, Travis Barker, and Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor at Wembley Stadium.
The Foo Fighters paid an emotional homage to their late bandmate and “brother” Taylor Hawkins by performing a “gigantic” show in his honour.
On what could be described as a sentimental night at Wembley Stadium, vocalist Dave Grohl fought back tears and had to steady himself as he walked the stage to deliver the opening Foo Fighters song of the night, Times Like These, with the audience’s applause bringing him back up.
Travis Barker, Rufus Taylor, Omar Hakim, and young online star Nandi Bushell were among the drummers that performed behind the leader for some of the band’s best tunes, with Hawkins’ adolescent son, Shane, taking his turn for an emotional My Hero.
Paul McCartney was a surprise addition to an already star-studded list, performing alongside The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde and Grohl, who alternated between drums, guitar, and bass throughout the night.
At the start of what would be a six-hour gig, Grohl paid tribute to their dear friend, bandmate, and brother.
