A dive-bombarding- bird of prey has caused terror among picnickers by swooping in to grab food.
One family was forced to flee after the red kite injured the father while grabbing a pizza crust and narrowly missed his young daughter.
Chris Hayden was enjoying a riverbank picnic with fiancée Sam Barrett, 33, his kids Lottie, six, and Poppy, one, and other family members when the razor-taloned raptor gouged a piece out of his shoulder.
“We were seated there having a wonderful time speaking and then the next minute, I suddenly felt this enormous fuzzy ball smack me in the face, then it attempted holding on and ran off,” claimed the garage owner, 29.
“He went for the crust since I had a small amount of it.
“I thought someone threw something at me.”
“She was just sitting there eating and it would have really hurt her.
