Alex de Minaur was born on February 17, 1999, and spent his childhood in Carss Park, a suburb of South Sydney. The 23-year-excitement-old’s love for tennis allowed him to get a head start on his career while he was still fairly young.
He first picked up a tennis racquet at the age of three and has been playing ever since, beginning at the Sydney Private tennis academy.
He made his professional debut in the Spain F22 event in July 2014. He proceeded to the quarterfinals of his first tournament, and he went on to have a great deal of success in the days that followed.
